Internationally acclaimed duo, Esinem & Electric Fairie will be at the Rubber Ball this year - find them on the Upper Floor performing a spectacular masked shibari performance in traditional Japanese style.

I am one of the very few Westerners to make my living fulltime from shibari. I have been teaching regular Japanese bondage classes for over 4 years (www.esinem.com/main-tuition), perform and sell rope internationally (stores.shop.ebay.co.uk/ESINEM-Rope), plus working on films and commercial shoots.

I am also one of the co-organisers of the London Festival of the Art of Japanese Bondage (www.japaneseropebondage.co.uk) . We ran the first event last year with the idea of presenting kinbaku (aka shibari/Japanese rope bondage) as an artistic inspiration, a performance art in its own right and as a means of erotic communication, whilst sharing knowledge about it and its cultural context. It was a massive success and we attracted visitors from all over the world. The next is scheduled for 30 April – 3 May. We expect this to be bigger and better judging by the interest so far.
